On Friday, December 4 the 5th graders experienced real pig lungs. They were able to touch and feel them. They identified the trachea, bronchi, and bronchioles. Amazingly enough, they even used straws to blow in the bronchioles to expand the lungs with air. WOW! Every 5th grader in attendance that day participated with enthusiasm. I think we have some future, nurses, doctors, veterinarians, and researchers in our midst.
